I've been homeschooling for 10 years and wanted to let you know that this is one of THE best things I have found (THE best in timelines).  My kids are now excited about history because we get to add to our timeline.  They even asked if we could add other people, like composers, that we come across in other classes, of course!  We just took a few centuries out to hang on the wall and my son was worried we were ruining the "book" format.  He was thrilled to find out we can put it back together any time.  Another bonus...we are seeing history as a big picture now rather than a lot of little pieces.  I even learned, finally, that Columbus sailed before Vasco da Gama...this may seem insignificant, but I didn't notice until we went to put them on the timeline.  I had to double check my dates!  Sorry this is so long, I just really wanted to thank you for creating such an amazing product.  We will add to this every year!

A few weeks later, after asking if we could use her comments:

You may use any comments you like.  I really do think it is such an awesome product.  We've been homeschooling for 10 years and I have never been so excited about anything we've purchased before.  We have about 600 years on our wall right now and show EVERYONE who comes over those pages plus the book.

And, my 11-year-old son just handed me a piece of paper with a bunch more names he would like to add to the timeline (I've been getting the pics online for now until we get some sort of safe filtering software on our computer).  The kids put them on the timeline.

Also, I am learning a lot myself.  My biggest discovery - and a surprise to many adults who have seen this - Napoleon and Daniel Boone were alive about the same time.  Obviously that makes sense now, but we learn about them in two different situations.  That is the real beauty of this whole system - we are getting a complete picture of history!

Both my 8th grade daughter and I love the Add-A-Century Timeline - easy to assemble and so easy to personalize with our studies!  Thanks so much!

I met you at the MHA conference and bought your Starter Pack with the Binder.  I was a little apprehensive that this might be a flop with my 10-year-old son, but we had a blast this morning putting together what we have learned so far this year.  He loves it and thought it was "cool."  Austen just loves making stickers on the computer for his timeline and he also has made sketches of the pyramids at Giza as well as other monuments we've studied.  I LOVE your system!  It is easy and fun!  Thank you for a great product!  It was so nice meeting you and buying directly from people who are going through the same experience as we are.

I have to tell you that I've been looking for just the perfect timeline and could never find just what I was looking for until I saw yours.  Just yesterday we returned from the SE Homeschool Expo in Atlanta and yours topped everything we saw!  Forget "necessity,"   Homeschool mothers are the "mothers" of invention!! :)

We plan to put birthdays of everyone in our families on the timeline. We hope the kids can dig up a little bit of family history and plug in info on our heritage too! Thank you for this new fun.

As my son and I began our homeschooling adventure, we found that one of our favorite things to do was to read aloud wonderful books about discoveries, history, famous politicians, music, holidays, etc. Some of our greatest learning happened in our informal conversations about these books or about trips and experiences relating to them. I soon began to wish for a comprehensive timeline that would allow us to notate when these events took place in the history of the world. I felt this would help my son develop an expansive contextual reference for the world's development and also help him to make connections between the events he learned about, and how they impacted the people living in that time and in the future.

I looked all over the internet trying to find a ready-made timeline that did not have to be taped all around a room and that allowed sufficient space for each century. I went to a number of educational supply stores, asked various sources and was disappointed to learn that what I was looking for was not available. I finally went to a store and purchased paper to make my own, but was not sure how to go about it.

Imagine my delight when I went to a homeschool conference just a few days later and discovered the Add-A-Century booth. They were selling a beautifully produced, expansive, book-form timeline that was flexible and yet created the perfect format for what I wanted. It was exactly what I would have created after much time and thought. I was thrilled.

I brought it home and immediately put it together according to the directions. It fits in a 12x12 3-ring scrapbook binder which allows us to take it with us anywhere in the house or on the road. This is a super product developed by another homeschooling mom who had the same desire to make history come alive for her child. Thank you Liz Blauer!
